Artist's Comments

Greetings!

Firts of all: I want to thank you Stef for making this asbolutely magnificent sketch to work on.

Visit his site: [link]

This was a really long (it took many hours to finish it) work.

I wanted this to be perfect, but I think there will be plenty of glitches in it.

So PLEASE write comments, I really want to know what you think.

1600*1200 - wallpaper size

PS: LOL, I can't write 'é' in the title...

EDIT: Many said that the picture needed more contrast. So I did it.

I added some more contrast to their skins.
I added some more shadow tho their clothes.
And I added some thicker lines to some places.

I hope you like this better.

Great!
But...I have some little things to say: The black lines are a bit tinies for me, Maybe the shadows could be darker (under the Padmé right arm, Leia breasts...)

You have added the Padmé shirt cracking, that's cool :) i didn't think about that.
I think we can create a new sort of game: Chaincolors :D

Thank you Lord Daroth :)
Can i put it in my galery with a link to this one?

:iconlorddaroth:
Of course you can:)

I were afraid of the shadows. I thought If I make them too strong that would somehow spoil their white clothes.

But As I wrote anybody should tell me ideas. If I correct every singl mistake, this will truly be perfect:)

Ah, I agree with Stef. Inking should have some lines thicker to show the little of shadow.
Ripping shirt is great, love that part, but coloring... I like it with more shadow, not just one layer of shadow and one lighter area. It's done good, but it's basic.
Overall, good work, but what does that letters on the table means?

It's in aurabesh:

"Girls, don't break this one"

I will rework the shadows one day... In fact there are more than five layer of shadows in the pic. But The opacity is too low.

About the lines. I like the thin lines, because thick lines sometimes can spoil the picture. This is the case now. Their cloths are white. How would a thick black line look there?

But I said, with the reworked shadows it'll be much better. But I had to finish it today, because if I don't, I would not had time to finish my novella...

Usually, for skin, for example, i have one layer for mid tones (the shadows of the body itself) , another for dark shadows (shadows created by a part on another part: Shadow of a clothe on the body or shadows of the breast on the abs) and one for highlights, nothing more and that works not bad :)
I don't know if i"m clear, i don"t know how these shadows are named in English.
On the Freya girl, there are one base and 3 layers.
I try to avoid to have too many layers or i'm a bit lost :D

If you've seen my work, you'll know that I"m not much of a colorist. If I had to hazard a criticism, I'd agree that the shadows need to be more defined, which would (I think) show more muscular depth. I think it would also add some dynamism to the overall picture.

And maybe darken the whites a touch.

Still very good for what it is.

Exactly. I used that three layers on the skin. But it looks like I didn't make them 'strong' enough. Right now I added some thicker lines where more 'mass' shoud be.

As soon as I made the shadows more prominent I'll upload the revised version.

Cute. =D

Yes, about the lines. Hardly I can explain it to anyone across internet, I would had to b in person.
Thin lines are ok, but thicker lines are needed to make picture look a lot better.
